This week’s health tips blog is looking at a Christmas workout and why it’s important to both keep your fitness going but give your body a chance to rest and recover.
Christmas is not only a very important religious celebration and an important time to spend with family and loved ones, it’s also an important time to look after for your health and reflect on your training too.
If you’re traveling around the country visiting family, weight training might become hard, so you can swap in some bodyweight training or cardio to keep moving whilst giving your body a well-earned rest. Swap in some long walks with family members, bike rides or home workouts with friends to get everyone involved.
Here’s a quick home workout to try with family this Christmas period:
Beginner: 3 rounds 1 min break between sets
Intermediate: 4 sets with 30 seconds rest
Advanced: 5 round with as little rest as possible
10 FORWARD LUNGES WITH TORSO ROTATION
10 BURPEES (try variations with jumps or press ups to make it harder)
10 PLANK JACKS
