On Thursday 22nd of June, four members of the motive8 team took part in an incredible bike ride, all in the aid of charity.

In support of SHELTER, in connection with CBRE, the World’s Biggest Property Bike ride returned for another year with a new route full of challenging climbs and stunning Surrey countryside to keep all the cyclists interested.

This year the crowd was joined by a team consisting of motive8’s Sarah Cleland-Smith, Richard Moon and Omar White. These three were joined by business associate Daniel Brendish who, like a true sport, stepped in for an injured Nick Sadler.

Thankfully the weather cooled down somewhat after the crazy heatwave to give the cyclists a bit of relief during the course. The ride started at Sandown Racecourse and led the riders through the beautiful Surrey Hills and back again. This meant the riders covered either 50km or 100km!

An early race time of 9:30 meant a good early start for the team but in good spirits the team made it around the course in one piece.
When asked about the event, rider Omar White explained:

How did you all find the ride?

We really enjoyed the day and the distance was bang on as we haven’t been on our bikes much this year.  With all the hot weather recently we were lucky that we had temperatures in the early 20’s and a nice cool breeze, perfect!

What was the course like?

The course took us out on a familiar route out through the Surrey Hills and over Box Hill.  The return leg was slightly different than usual as we headed past Epsom Racecourse where the views over the valley were magnificent.

Favourite part of the ride?

Finding our lost team mate who set out in an earlier group by mistake!

How many took part?

Around 800 riders.

How much was raised?

£46,000 which we’re so happy will go to help the victims of the Grenfell fire!

Well done to all four riders on their brilliant efforts!
