In this blog I will be introducing the world of Invictus and have chosen one workout from their website that I found interesting which will be discussed later on in the blog.

Firstly, what is Invictus? Invictus is a fitness company based in San Diego, California with 3 gymnasiums currently operating and their main goal is to promote Crossfit training amongst the population of San Diego via 1-1 as well as group sessions in order to help people improve their health, fitness and wellbeing with exercise.

Their website has a staggering amount of information about what they do as well as detailed descriptions of each team member and a blog updated daily so feel free to check it out if you’re interested in finding out more about the world of Crossfit.

Moving on to the workout, here is one of the more intriguing ones I have found looking through the “Workout Of The Day” section:

Section A

Three sets of:

Goblet Squats x 8-10 reps @ 3111
Rest 45 seconds

Ring Rows x 8-10 reps @ 2111
Rest 45 seconds

Kettlebell Swings x 20 reps
Rest 45 seconds

Plank Hold x 45 seconds
Rest 45 seconds

Section B.

Four sets of:

5 Strict Pull-Ups

10 Push-Ups

15 Air Squats

Perform as many rounds as possible in 3 minutes, then rest 90 seconds between sets and pick up where you left off to start the next round. Score the total number of rounds completed. If you have any trouble understanding the digits in some of the exercises, please visit http://www.crossfitinvictus.com/blog/what-does-30×0-mean/ for an explanation of Tempo Training.

Now if that doesn’t challenge you then I don’t know what will! Bear in mind most of the workouts you will find on the site as well as this one will be quite challenging and you might want to build your fitness up to it beforehand.
