On December 15th the kids coaching team, alongside some of their students, headed over to The Exchange Theatre in Twickenham for their Christmas showcase to show their fellow classmates, teachers and parents what all their hard work during the term had created. The show was a great success with all the parents singing their praises after the performances. Head of Kids Coaching, Naomi Smith, worked tirelessly with her team to put together this show to give the kids a chance to show off their skills and their hard work definitely paid off!

The Exchange Theatre, Twickenham. The theatre was a great location and perfect for our showcase. There was a large foyer serving snack and drinks before our audience was led into the 300-seat auditorium.

Children taking part in the show were aged 6-11 and are participants in our weekly gymnastics classes. There were groups from St Mary’s Twickenham, St Johns the Baptist Teddington, St Mary’s & St Peter’s Teddington and both the motive8 Street Dance squad & motive8 Gymnastics squad.

The Planning:

The children learnt their routines for the show in their weekly classes alongside the normal lesson; each group had 5 weeks to choreograph, learn and perfect their piece.

Alongside Naomi was gymnastics & dance coaches Emma Charman, Megan Martin King, Clara Nutting & Jamie Lynch. The show would have not been possible without their amazing hard work, talent and dedication.

The show:

The children were fantastic and each performance was a joy to watch. Each child was part of the opening, finale and their group’s own number. All the parents were so pleased with the show and this is something we would definitely do again.

Special thank you to all the staff at the Exchange, Emma, Clara, Megan, Jamie and the coaches helping out on show night Samet, Jemel, Kieth, Scott & Cale.

Huge well done to all the kids and coaches involved and thank you for all your hard work. We can’t wait for the next one!
