motive8, has today announced the completion of a new corporate gym for a business development company in London.
The new gym is for use by all employees, who were consulted by the management as to what they wanted from the new facility. motive8’s consultancy service then worked with the company to create a gym that would meet the employees’ requirements. motive8 also supplied the fitness equipment and worked with the fit-out company in terms of flooring, lighting and cooling.
The business development company decided to install the gym for the benefit of employees and to encourage them to look after their health. The new gym features state-of-the-art equipment, with additional space for people to do core exercises and stretching. It features two treadmills, a cross trainer and eSpinner, all from Star Trac, as well as a rowing machine, lifting station, kettle bells, freeweights and dumbbells. Inductions have also been provided by motive8 staff, and the staff response has been extremely positive.
“We have been working with motive8 for the past couple of months, and during this time, we have found them to be reliable, responsible and professional,” commented the Office Manager. “They have never once let us down and have always provided the highest level of service.”
Convenient access to use the facility in the morning, at lunchtime or after work means that employees can more easily incorporate exercise into their daily routine. It is hoped that this will bring more energy and productivity at work, less stress and fewer days off sick and it also creates a social hub away from desks and computer screens.
With an estimated 13 million work days a year lost due to stress-related illnesses, adding a gym is a positive step for any company, large or small. A quality working environment helps to attract and retain high calibre staff, with exercise in the workplace a definite motivational tool, as well as being proven to put the body in optimum working mode. In fact, a recent survey carried out in London found that nearly half of those surveyed said they would choose having a gym or access to a gym as a perk over and above a games room or cafeteria.*
“Since the Olympics, we’ve noticed an increased number of enquiries from corporates wanting to install on-site fitness facilities,” commented Nick Sadler, MD of motive8. “What has helped has been the success of our residential gym installations. Customers can see that we take a bespoke approach to each and every project, and corporates often require a facility that is specifically tailored to their requirements.”
The new London gym is one of a growing number of corporate gym installations that motive8 has completed, with recent projects including Linklaters Law Firm in London, The Gateway Corporate in Leeds and Chiswick Honda.
A key benefit of the motive8 corporate service is its ability to produce both 2D and 3D renders in-house, enabling it to turn projects around at a much faster rate, as well as providing clients with a realistic impression of their finished facility before the project has begun. It can also draw on its personal training expertise to create personalised fitness programmes and/or train members of staff at the facility.
