I am going to teach you how to do a good interval based leg session, and after completing this you should feel like your legs are on fire – yes, really! In order to do this you first need to establish your current level of strength, because you will be using both dumbbells and kettlebells. Once you have noted your required dumbbell weight you are then free to begin the workout.
You will be doing four cycles of this workout, including a warm up set of each exercise, which is to be done without the weight at the beginning.
- Bodyweight squat – 15 reps
- Forward lunge (right side) – 15 reps
- Forward lunge (left side) – 15 reps
- Standing calf raises – 15 reps
The same as the above exercises with a few changes; the squat is with a kettlebell and the forward lunges are with two dumbbells. The calf raises will remain without a weight.
Repeat the workout for four cycles as mentioned with a one minute rest break after each cycle is completed. The workout should last you around 15 minutes in total, a perfect length if you’re short on time or want a quick workout to do during a lunchbreak!
