A Word from Naomi Smith
Our Coaching Manager
At motive8 Coaching we have a clear mission covering three main strands; quality delivery, building and maintaining a reputable team and our contribution to the bigger picture of sport for young people.
• We strive to deliver the highest standard of sports coaching to our schools, colleges and professional sports organisations.
• We maintain high standards by placing a large emphasis on session planning, closely monitoring development of the children and ensuring clear lines of communication with our coaching team.
• We have built a solid department that can successfully deliver a combination of meaningful sports education and effective motivation. We take recruitment and training of our coaches very seriously. Individuals are not only recruited based on qualifications but on experience in delivering and taking part in a variety of sports. We seek out passionate, trustworthy staff, who will always go the extra mile.
• By building and demonstrating an inspiring and knowledgeable sports coaching team, we want to encourage and motivate as many young people as possible to work actively towards a positive future for themselves and for the sports culture in the UK.
I’ve been with motive8 for nearly 10 years now, after starting as an Apprentice from Richmond College. Being able to pass on my knowledge and support children’s success in a sporting environment is really satisfying for me. I love turning a child’s weakness into their strength, that’s a great part of the job. Also seeing how they deal with success and failure and how they learn from both is interesting too.
Being able to come down to the children’s level and talk to them on a level that they understand, giving them boundaries and maintaining discipline in a fun environment is very rewarding. Helping them excel in areas they wouldn’t think they could excel in inspiring. I genuinely love my job.
Football is my passion and I would love to teach football every day if I could! However, expanding my expertise other sports has been a great learning process for me in this role.
