Social Responsibility
We want to do our bit to help others, improve wellbeing and focus our efforts where we can make a difference.
Supporting athletes to achieve
In 2021, we launched our Empowering Performance initiative, a support programme to help athletes achieve their sporting goals. Empowering Performance offers bespoke support packages tailored to the exact needs of individual athletes, focusing on where we can best help improve performance. Individual support can cover any aspect of training and competition such as specialist fitness equipment; gym & spa membership; training, conditioning, nutritional advice; physiotherapy and rehabilitation; kit packages; and funding and financial support. The first two athletes we are supporting on their path to success are Winter Olympics 2022 gold medal prospect, Laura Deas, and talented hurdler, Anastasia Davies.

Giving to causes we care about
We believe health and fitness can benefit everyone. We are proud to donate funds and our expertise in health and fitness to help others. We are proud to provide charitable funds through regular fitness initiatives and challenges that take place at our managed health and fitness sites. Over the past few years, we have supported the Alzheimer Association, Heart Research UK and The Brain Tumour Charity.

Taking action for our planet
We are increasingly looking at ways we can play our part to protect our planet. We work closely with Make It Wild, an organisation that aims to protect nature and encourage a greater knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of the natural world. In 2022 we have pledged to plant a new tree each month, for each of our fully managed spa sites, to help offset our carbon footprint. All trees will be planted in Make It Wild’s protected nature reserves in North Yorkshire.

Nurturing employee wellbeing
The importance of good mental health and wellbeing is part of our DNA at motive8. In 2021 we created our Wellbeing Support Team and Wellbeing Committee. All members of our mental health teams hold the Mental Health First Aider qualification from Mental Health England. Our Wellbeing Committee is responsible for implementing and driving wellbeing initiatives and reviewing internal processes to improve employee welfare.
