Boutique fitness studio gets customers CYC:D for exercise
Back in February 2016, we took an enquiry via our website from a client who was looking to acquire a commercial unit and convert it into a boutique spin studio in Haslemere, Surrey. From the outset, we assisted in drawing up plans to make best use of the space, project managed a construction company to quote for the necessary building work to a point where the client knew the concept would work and signed a lease on the property.
With terms agreed, work on the property began in July 2016. motive8 project managed the entire build programme, liaising with builders, flooring contractors, signage makers and equipment manufacturers to ensure all elements of the project came together as planned. We began by demolishing the interior of the unit and building the new layout (including a soundproofed studio space to ensure the council’s noise concerns were addressed).
In addition to the building works, we procured and fitted the floor, did all internal M&E, plumbing, decorating and fitting of the finishing touches such as the ballet barre, TV screens and mirrors. We also assisted the client with procurement of signage alongside other small equipment items for her classes.
Whilst the studio was being built, we gave the client 3 different bike options which she demo’d at home before deciding on the optimal bike for her studio. We then supplied and installed the bikes. To complete the project, we assisted with operational aspects such as the booking system, bike software and operations manuals and suggested other operational items they would need to address for the day to day running of the site such as Risk Assessments.
The client chose the fixtures, fittings and finishes creating a clean but urban workout space, with modern, cool changing rooms, reception and juice.
