STUDENT CASE STUDY
GREAT SUFFOLK HOUSE

London students treated to high spec onsite gym
Great Suffolk House is London-based student housing at it’s very best. Residents enjoy the ease of having on-site essentials such as a brand new gym, bike storage and a very handy Tesco Express supermarket on the ground floor. And when it’s time to put the books down and relax, students can head to the newly refurbished Sky Lounge and Roof Terrace with pool table, widescreen TV’s, comfy seating and truly amazing 360° views of the city. The brand new gym was designed and installed by motive8. Top of the range Star Trac treadmills were installed, featuring interactive touchscreens offering internet, TV and iPod connectivity. Alongside these sit a Star Trac Blade Ion spinning bike, an Octane Fitness elliptical cross trainer and a Concept2 rowing machine.
The strength area benefits from a Star Trac Dual Adjustable Pulley (DAP), a great piece of kit that can offer over 200 different exercises all from one piece of equipment. Next to this is a set of medicine balls and a Swiss ball for use with both the DAP and for core stability exercises.
Four kettlebells, a set of 2-20kg freeweights on a space saving U-rack and a multi-adjustable bench complete the offering.
The room has been designed using clever wood panelling, which gives the gym structure yet still allows light and air to circulate the room together with funky lighting panels to add colour and light. Floor to ceiling windows also flood the space with natural light.
