Filip is responsible for ensuring all motive8’s unmanned gym sites are serviced with inductions, classes and personal training and plays an integral part of the Fitness services team. Filip has worked at motive8 for six years and below we find out what he’s learned during this time and why he enjoys it so much:
Ensuring safety and confidence of residents
I work with all of our unmanned gym sites to ensure we deliver our gym induction, fitness classes and personal training services to residents to the best of our team’s ability, and based on the individual schedule and availability at each facility.
Our fitness management services are used by clients who may not be in a position, or in need of employing a fully staffed fitness facility team but still want to ensure the safety and confidence of residents using their fitness spaces.
Communication is key
My average day consists of ensuring our scheduled appointments run smoothly by communicating with our trainers, estate management teams and individual residents on a day-to-day basis. I am the main point of contact for pretty much anything, from assisting residents with booking their induction appointments to setting up contracts, to schedules and staffing where needed.
I also support the HQ team when I’m based in the office, which means I often pass information on to other departments and liaise with key partners. This mainly involves communicating with our Gym & Pool Maintenance and Gym & Spa Management teams. My role also extends to looking for new business opportunities.
The thing I enjoy most about working at motive8 is the opportunity to continuously progress within the company – I feel very fortunate to have been offered multiple chances for advancing, with each role providing more room for professional development.
Hard work converting to a busy gym floor
My favourite achievement since working at motive8 has been the growth of the Personal Training services delivered whilst working at the prestigious Beaufort Park residential development. We had an amazing year in 2022, delivering an incredibly high number of personal training sessions between March to May, which surpassed all expectations. It felt as if all the effort placed into managing the site and the team prior and during the pandemic period returned in the form of an extremely busy gym floor!
What I’ve learnt at motive8
There are too many things to list that I’ve learnt since starting at motive8, however I would like to highlight the following insights:
- People will always remember how you made them feel
- Developing rapport with your team and building a good team dynamic is essential to success
- You cannot build a great building on a weak foundation: everyone needs time to rest and recover for optimal performance
The motive8 team is like a second family
The motive8 team is like a second family – everyone is open, honest and kind, whilst maintaining a professional approach and delivering exceptional customer service. I feel this approach assists with maintaining good dynamics between the different departments, ensuring we work more as a team rather than individuals.
The last thing I’d like to say about working at motive8 is that I am grateful for the opportunity to work in exciting roles where I have been able to grow and develop.
