Refurbished Gym Gives Resident's Fitness Goals a Boost in Time for New Year

London

Canary Central was originally developed in 2004 by Galliard Homes on the old Tate & Lyle sugar factory site in the heart of London Docklands ‘Millennium Quarter’. With excellent local transport links, including South Quay DLR and Canary Wharf Tube Station, the scheme is hugely popular with those working in the financial district. After a hard day crunching numbers, residents of the development are spoilt for choice at the onsite Canary Central Spa.

The leisure facilities are provided for the exclusive use of residents, offering a 15.5m swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and fully-equipped gym with changing facilities. motive8 was instructed to manage the refurbishment of the gym, which re-opened in December 2016 just in time for the New Year health kick!

The new gym features nine pieces of cardio equipment, including Technogym treadmills, an upright bike, group cycle, two different models of Octane ellipticals and a Concept2 rowing machine. Due to a lower than average ceiling height, we opted for a Plurima tower to provide a range of resistance exercises and a squat rack with Olympic power bar for strength work.

A freestanding kick and punch bag was also supplied, as were stretching mats, a selection of Swiss balls and a set of 2.5-30kg dumbbells with two multi-adjustable benches. The gym has also been newly decorated to bring a splash of colour and brightness to the facility.
